SEATTLE (AP) - Catcher Kenji Johjima was activated from the 15-day disabled list and inserted into the Seattle Mariners lineup.
Johjima rejoined the Mariners before Friday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Johjima was placed on the disabled list April 16 after leaving a game a day earlier with tightness in his right hamstring. Before getting injured, Johjima was hitting .250 with four RBIs in seven games.To make room for Johjima, the Mariners designated catcher Jamie Burke for assignment. Seattle also recalled left-handed pitcher Jason Vargas from Triple-A Tacoma to take the place of reliever Roy Corcoran, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained neck.
