Seattle Mariners Inside Pitch 2008-06-30
The Mariners will dip into the bullpen to get their starter for Tuesday night's game against the Blue Jays.

With Felix Hernandez not ready because of a sprained left ankle, manager Jim Riggleman said Sunday that he would use a combination of relievers to get through Tuesday's game.

Riggleman's likely choice to start is lefty Ryan Rowland-Smith, although Roy Corcoran and Mark Lowe were also possibilities. Rowland-Smith started in winter ball last offseason in Venezuela.

"It may not even matter which one starts it," Riggleman said. "It's going to be a combination of guys."

Riggleman said he could go with three pitchers for three innings each, although that would limit his options in the bullpen during Monday night's game against the Jays.

MARINERS 9, PADRES 2: The Mariners won their third straight game with a rare display of offense. RF Ichiro Suzuki went 5-for-5 for the seventh time in his career, and 3B Adrian Beltre and C Jeff Clement homered.
