--RHP Brandon Morrow, who has been bothered by tightness in his right forearm, threw batting practice March 20 but seems to accept the reality that he might not be ready to begin the season in the rotation. "I'm trying not to think about it," he said. "They told me now to worry about that and to just make sure I am healthy."
--OF Mike Wilson, released and then re-signed early in the spring, continues to show considerable power, including hitting three homers in a two-game stretch last week. He has four homers and is second on the team with 10 RBI despite having limited playing time.
--RHP Jesus Delgado, claimed on waivers from Florida recently, made his first appearance with Seattle a scoreless one inning March 19. He will get a chance to make the Seattle bullpen in the final weeks.
--OF Greg Halman rejoined the team after spending time playing for Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic. Although he might get a few at-bats with the big-league team in the coming weeks, he was reassigned to the minor league camp shortly after his return.
--RHP Roy Corcoran spent a week without pitching because of right biceps tendinitis, and he can't wait to get out on the field. Corcoran said the injury "is nothing serious." He said he'd be able to pitch through the problem if it was the regular season. "I like to be out there every day," he said. "I don't like sitting in the trainer's room. I'm too competitive for that."
--LHP Erik Bedard still is on schedule to make the starting rotation, but he's missed enough time because of a sore right gluteus maximus that it will be close, manager Don Wakamatsu said. "Everything seems to be good with him," the manager said. "(But) he's got three more starts here, and that's going to be close."
