Seattle Mariners Notes, Quotes 2009-04-14
--3B Matt Tuiasosopo is the only member of the Seattle 25-man roster not to have appeared in a game yet. A local product from the Seattle suburb of Woodinville, Tuiasosopo will be on the roster for the home opener Tuesday, but he's likely to be sent to Class AAA Tacoma on Wednesday as the Mariners need to make room for RF Ichiro Suzuki to come off the disabled list.

--RHP Nick Adenhart, the Angels pitcher killed in a hit-and-run automobile accident last week, would have been scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Mariners. Instead, the Mariners will have a pregame moment of silence for him, for former Mariners general manager Dick Vertlieb, former Mariners pitcher Dave Roberts and Ed "Tuba Man" McMichael, a Seattle sporting scene icon.

BY THE NUMBERS: 6 -- Consecutive wins by Seattle over Oakland dating back to last season.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "My friends and my wife, who was at the game, were more amped up than I was." -- RHP Shawn Kelley, on appearing in his first big-league game April 10 against Oakland. He pitched a scoreless inning.
