--C Rob Johnson has a mildly strained groin muscle, but Johnson said it's nothing that should keep him out of the lineup. Johnson has a 2.94 catcher's ERA, the best in the major leagues. "The credit has to go to the pitchers," Johnson said. "They're the ones who are doing the work."

--RHP Brandon Morrow didn't pitch at all over the weekend in Anaheim because of shoulder pain. The extra day created by Monday's rainout will help, but Morrow was ready to go Monday if the game had been played.

--LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith, on the disabled list with left triceps tendinitis, hopes to be able to play catch this week in Chicago. He was eligible to come off the disabled April 20, but his return had to be delayed when he didn't have as much range of motion as needed. He is probably a week away.

--1B/DH Mike Sweeney was in the original lineup Monday and DH Ken Griffey Jr. was due to get the day off. With a doubleheader Tuesday, each will probably get to play in one game.

--C Kenji Johjima, who was with the team in Anaheim, left the club to work out at the Mariners' spring training site in Peoria, Ariz., as he prepares to come off the disabled list this weekend. Johjima, who was disabled by a mild right hamstring injury, is likely to be activated Friday.

INF Ronny Cedeno (strained right hamstring) was out of the lineup April 23-25. He is day-to-day.

C Kenji Johjima (strained right hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list April 16. He might start running in late April.

LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith (left triceps tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 11.

LHP Cesar Jimenez (left biceps tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 29. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Tacoma on April 24.

LHP Ryan Feierabend (Tommy John elbow surgery in March 2009) went on the 60-day disabled list March 16.

LHP Tyler Johnson (left shoulder surgery in May 2008) started the season in the minors. He will pitch in extended spring training in late April.

RHP Chad Cordero (right shoulder surgery in July 2008) signed a minor league deal with the Mariners during the spring, and he wasn't ready for opening day. He will pitch in extended spring training in late April.
